Charities in Shri Kripaluji Maharaj's Remembrance

From December 2nd to 7th, several charitable activities were performed in the holy cities of Vrindavan and Barsana in the loving remembrance of our Gurudev, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. A 24-hour Akhand Sankeertan (continous keertan) was held at Shyama Shayma Dham on November 30th. Sevaral Saints of Braj came to the Shyama Shyam Dham ashram in Vrindavan during the Akhand Sankirtan and offered their respects and flower tributes to Shri Maharaj Ji. A Shobha Yatra was taken out on December 1st from Shyama Shyam Dham to Keshi Ghat where Shri Maharaj Ji's holy ashes were offered to river Yamuna.

Brahman Bhoj in Vrindavan, December 2, 2013

On December 2nd, Brahman Bhoj was held at Prem Mandir, Vrindavan for the Vishisht Brahmans, Sants and Mahants of Braj. Devotees humbly welcomed each guest, washed their feet and wiped them dry with a towel on arrival. The guests were then taken to a shrine, where they did pranam to Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. Preachers of JKP put flower garland and tilak on them before seating them for prasad. Dakshina and gift bags containing blankets, jacket, chandan, stainless steel hot case, shawl, cloth for dhoti and kurta were given to each brahman.

Sadhu Bhoj in Vrindavan, December 3, 2013

After Brahman bhoj, Sadhu Bhoj was held at Prem Mandir, Vrindavan on December 3rd. Around 7,000 sadhus of Vrindavan were invited. The sadhus were humbly welcomed by the devotees of JKP and their feet were washed and dried off on arrival. They were then seated for the bhoj. Dakshina and gift bags were distributed to the sadhus. The gift bags contained jacket, blanket, stainless steel hot case, chandan, socks, woolen cap, bed sheet, laundry soap and dhoti-kurta.

Vidhwa Bhoj in Vrindavan, December 5, 2013

Around 5,000 widows living in Braj were invited to Vidhwa Bhoj held at Prem Mandir, Vrindavan on December 5th. The devotees welcomed them and assisted them to the seating area, where a grand feast was served. Gift bag containing items of everyday use, and dakshina were offered to each of them. A medical booth was also set up for those who needed general treatment and nursing for their existing injuries.

Sadhu Bhoj in Barsana, December 6, 2013

A Sadhu Bhoj was held at Rangeeli Mahal in Barsana on December 6th. The devotees washed the sadhus feet as they welcomed them. After paying their respects to Shri Maharaj Ji, the Sadhus were given prasad dakshina and gift bags. Each gift bag contained blanket, jacket, bedsheet, stainless steel hotcase, woolen cap, socks, cloth for dhoti-kurta, towel, gamchha, chandan and laundry soap.

Vidhwa Bhoj in Barsana, December 7, 2013

Similar to the one in Vrindavan, a grand vidhwa bhoj was organized at Rangeeli Mahal, Barsana on December 7th. Widows living in Barsana and neighbouring areas were invited for a feast. They were also offered dakshina and gift bags with items of daily use.
