Didi Ji's visit to Dwarkadhish Temple in NJ, Sep 2011
Didi Ji
In the Lecture series given at Dwarkadhish temple in Parlin, New Jersey , Didi Ji spoke in Hindi and expounded on the secrets of God's avatar and His grace.  She explained that even though God is free from the cycle of birth & death, He still descends to earth with form. There are many reasons behind Shree Krishna's avatar but the most important one is to grace the souls and facilitate loving Him.

Didi Ji then went on to explain how worldly attachments and lack of spiritual knowledge hold an individual back from following the spiritual path.  She also detailed the conditions that need to be fullfilled to become deserving of unlimited and eternal bliss.  And, to recieve such a grace, we have to cleanse our heart.  To achieve this, we need to build a relationship with Shree Krishna & love Him with four 'bhav,' namely, Daasya bhav (servant-master relationship), Sakhya bhav (friendly relationship), Vatsalya bhav (mother-child relationship) and Madhurya bhav (lover-beloved relationship).

The audience was spellbound listening to the eternal message of the Vedas and Shastras simplified by Didiji.  They also drowned in the nectar of God's name chanted so melodiously by Didi Ji. In the words of a spiritual aspirant, "Listening to Didi Ji at Dwarkadhish temple was a very blissful and powerful experience.”

Prem Ras Madira Retreat, Cleveland, July 2011
Prem Ras Madira Retreat, Cleveland, July 2011

We have just finished our nectar-filled Prem Ras Madira retreat, guided by Siddheshvari Didi Ji.  Devotees flew in and drove from all over North America to partake in the retreat.   This two and a half day retreat organized by Radha Madhav Society and hosted by Jigar & Priti Patel was all about helping devotees do "sadhana" as recommended by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. The concept of "Roopdhyan" was explained and its immense importance in making spiritual progress was reinforced.

The beautiful songs and the melodies with which they were sung at different times during the day, the guided meditation sessions and lectures led by Didi Ji, the DVD lectures with Shri Maharaj Ji, and the Q&A sessions were all geared towards teaching everyone how to incorporate Shri Radha and Krishna in our daily lives.

The devotees who could not join us in person, were able to join us via Kripalu Bhakti Radio as most of the sessions were broadcast live.

What a wonderful weekend! The pictures of the retreat have been posted on the photo-gallery page of our site.

It is time to start planning your trip to Dayton, Ohio for the September Labor Day retreat. The exact dates and times will be posted on the website in the next few days.

Radha Madhav Gurukul inaugurated in Toronoto, April 2011
Radha Madhav Gurukul inaugurated in Toronoto, April 2011
On Saturday, April 9, Radha Madhav Society launched Radha Madhav Gurukul classes in Toronto, personally guided by Siddheshvari Devi Ji.  There were more than 50 people in attendance.  Approximately 25 children and their parents gathered at 10 am, enthusiastically anticipating the Gurukul sessions and satsang.  Students, parents, volunteers and teachers repeated the Daily Prayer recited by Didi Ji.  After this, the children were divided into 3 age groups and were taken by their teachers to their classes.  They learned about Hinduism, Indian culture and how to play the dholak.  They also learned yoga.  The classes are divided into 30 minutes each.

In the meantime, the parents were engaged in chanting the names and glories of Shri Radha and Krishna.  Didi Ji sang from the Radha Madhav Society bhajan book which contains very sweet bhajans and keertans by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.  A devotee remarked, “The keertan was so powerful that I felt as if I was in our ashram in Mangarh.”  A thought provoking lecture on the importance of the human life was also delivered by Didi Ji.

The children joined their parents, other volunteers and Didi Ji for the bhog and arati.  One by one, each child had the opportunity to perform the arati ceremony and to fan Radha and Krishna during the offering of the bhog.

Group photos were taken after Didi Ji distributed the prasad.  Everyone left with sweet memories of the first day of Gurukul.

Lectures at Shiv Mandir of Atlanta, Feb 2011

Didi Ji concluded a seven-day series of talks in Shiv Mandir, located in Global Mall in Atlanta.  The topics were very interesting and Didi Ji held the attention of seekers who rushed from work on weeknights to listen to her knowledge-filled lectures.

Mr. Sudhakar J. Mody, president of Shiv Mandir, had this to say:

"We at Shiv Mandir are so fortunate to hear you explain the different topics from our Hindu religion.   Your explanations of why God comes to us as Avatar, importance of faith, how to love God, and about Maya and Yogmaya, were very enlightening.  Your deep knowledge of our scriptures, along with sweet keertans made it easier for us to understand the lectures.  Since you spoke in English, your talks attracted the younger generation also.  If is necessary for them and they listened attentively.  We at Shiv Mandir appreciate your coming here and enlightening us."

Lectures on "Message of the Geeta" in Vishwa Bhavan Mandir, Monore, Georgia, Jan 2011
Lectures on "Message of the Geeta" in Vishwa Bhavan Mandir, Monore, Georgia, Jan 2011

From January 28th till the 30th Didi Ji spoke on the 'Message of the Geeta' in Vishwa Bhavan Mandir in Monroe, Georgia. Didi Ji started by saying that the expression 'Good things come in small packages' certainly applies to the Bhagavad Geeta, which contains a wealth of knowledge in only 700 verses. The theme for the 3 days was 'How to Control the Mind.' Each lecture was follwed by an enlightening Q&A session.

In a very interesting and interactive session with children and teens, Didi Ji emphasized staying true to one's core values and parental teachings. The dangers of negative peer pressure were highlighted.

Didi Ji answered many questions asked by junior seekers, and after the session each child was given a beautiful Krishna photo sticker.

Along with superb knowledge Didi Ji distributed to the devotees of Vishwa Bhavan Mandir a beautiful New Year's calendar displaying a sweet image of Radha and Krishna.

Rest of the story will be told by the photos.

Vancouver Programs, Jan 2011
Vancouver Programs, Jan 2011

Didi Ji spent part of January in the western part of Canada, in the beautiful province of British Columbia. Devotees attending her talks in Burnaby, Vancouver, Delta and Surrey have been left with a clearer understanding and a greater appreciation of Hindu scriptures. One of the listeners remarked, “I was always confused about how Guru Nanak Dev had knowledge of scriptures without reading them. But today when I heard Didi Ji talk about Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, I finally understood that a Saint acquires knowledge through the grace of God and not by reading books.”

Another remarked, “I had taken my 6-year old son to the Surrey temple on Tuesday as it is Hanuman Ji’s day. I didn’t know lectures were going on there. There were many children at the temple that evening. After keertan Didi Ji told all the children to come to the front and sit up straight. Along with others, my son immediately went to the front and sat down. I liked the way Didi Ji promised all the children a gift if they behaved well. Sure to her promise, she gave them all a lollipop and a beautiful photo of Krishna. It was very surprising for me to see my son sitting quietly for more than an hour at a stretch. This is the first time he had ever done that, and it was the first time I have ever seen a holy person pay such attention to children.”

Didi Ji announced in all the temples and home programs that a Hindu youth camp will be held in Vancouver in the first week of August. Since there is no such camp presently being held in Vancouver, parents and children have shown a lot of enthusiasm, and are now waiting anxiously for the summer.
