Hindu Youth Camps 2012

As parents you want your children to do the right thing and to have the confidence to resist peer pressure. You also want your children to have moral and spiritual guidance so that they may live a virtuous life. Our youth camp classes are designed to open young minds and teach them how to live a life in harmony with Vedic principles. Your child will learn about Hinduism, ethics and morals from teachers committed to providing loving guidance. Yoga, music, and arts and crafts classes are also taught.

Locations and Dates

In summer 2012, three residential and three day camps are being organized. Three of them will be in the US and three in Canada.

What does your child do at camp

  • Learn prayers and bhajans
  • Have fun while learning what it means to be a Hindu
  • Celebrate Hindu festivals and learn their significance
  • Become acquainted with Vedic teachings
  • Learn yoga and pranayam
  • Learn to play harmonium, dholak and manjeera
  • Play typical Indian games such as cricket, pitthu, kabaddi and kho-kho
  • Learn arts and crafts
  • Enjoy outdoor sankeertan, games and picnic
  • Participate in a cultural program
  • Make friends with children with similar values

Classes offered at the camp

Following classes will be offered in this year's youth camps.

For 10-16 year olds:
  • Mind - Friend of Enemy?
  • Importance of Seva
  • Introduction to Brahm, Jeev, Maya
  • Introduction to Shri Maharaj Ji's scriptures
  • Science of Devotion and Grace
  • Wellness for Life

For 5-9 year olds:
  • Meanings of Different Names of God
  • Hindu Culture
  • Importance of Seva
  • Know your Family
  • Leelas of Radha Krishna
  • Doing the Right Thing

Besides the core classes, each student selects one of the following electives. Each class is limited to about 10 to 12 students. View details of each class.
  • Dholak
  • Harmonium
  • Manjeera
  • Singing

The students in 10-16 yr age group select one of the following educational classes. Again, each class is limited to about 12 to 15 students. View details of each class.
  • Holy Places of India
  • Historical Landmarks of India
  • Math Champ
  • Fun With Food

Activities for Accompanying Parents

Parents have the opportunity to listen to Didi Ji's talks, ask questions, do yoga, help out as volunteers and participate in bhajan sessions.

Registration Fee

The registration fee amounts listed below are in USD for the camps in US and in CAD for the camps in Canada.

For Residential Camps:
$325 for one child, $475 for two siblings, $525 for three siblings. Each additional sibling is $100.
Early bird registrants get $25 off the total registration fee.
Life Members of Radha Madhav Society get 10% additional discount.

For Day Camps:
$225 for one child, $375 for two siblings, $475 for three siblings. Each additional sibling is $100.
Early bird registrants get $25 off the total registration fee.
Life Members of Radha Madhav Society get 10% additional discount.

General Policies

  • Registration fees are not refundable. If you cancel your registration, your fee amount can be applied towards next year's youth camp.
  • In the residential camps, maximum of two adults are allowed to attend the camp free of charge with one or more child belonging to the same family.
  • In the residential camps, at least one parent is required to attend the entire camp for a child in the 5-9 yr age group.
  • In the day camps, we would like both parents to join us in the evening for dinner with your children.

How to register

To register, fill out the online registration form and pay your registration fee online using a credit card. Registration is not considered confirmed until registration fee is paid.
