This time of the year is a time for giving, with shopping malls filled with people scurrying desperately to purchase gifts for family and friends. There is an urgency to make purchases. It is a stressful time for many who are trying to find the perfect gift. However, you do not have to get caught up in the shopping frenzy. There are other choices as far as giving is concerned.

Consider purchasing multiple copies of a book that offers hope, encouragement and inspiration, and give the book as gift to loved ones. For children, buy a story book teaching them basic human values and principles. Then there are people on your list who have everything, and as such, they certainly do not need anything more. Why not write a cheque to your favourite charity on their behalf? This way you will avoid buying unnecessarily.   Let your children experience the joy of sharing with the less fortunate ones. Teach them the value of giving. Instill in them a love for charity.

Give loved ones the gift of time. Use your upcoming holidays to bind together as a family and spend time together. This may just prove to be the biggest gift of all.

My gift to you is a retreat from Christmas till New Year. This gift is being given to you and your entire family with great amounts of love. Come away to a peaceful atmosphere and spend blissful moments rejuvenating body, mind and spirit.
