Be a volunteer
What do Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Princess Diana, Benjamin Franklin, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Sandra Bullock have in common? They are all volunteers. They all donate or donated their time to help others. Join their ranks and become a volunteer too.
There are many benefits of volunteering.
You will derive satisfaction by helping others.
You will gain valuable leadership skills.
You will share a skill with others, and this will make you feel good about yourself.
You will learn something new.
You will enjoy it.
You will feel needed.
You will get a chance to break out of the 'routine.'
You will become more confident due to your experience.
You will have a chance to give back to others.
You will have an impact on others.
Your motives may not be altogether altruistic. Volunteering may advance your career. It will prove to be beneficial to your body and your mind. You may wish to volunteer with the hopes of boosting your confidence. It is alright that your motives are not altogether altruistic. Even if you are volunteering for selfish reasons, the fact is that you will be helping others in the process.
Volunteering is a win-win situation. Be a volunteer.
