Canmore Retreat

Devotees from various parts of Canada and US gathered for a retreat near Banff, Canada. Guided by Sushri Siddheshvari Devi Ji, this third annual retreat was held at Copperstone Resort at the base of Rocky Mountains. The natural beauty of the surroundings perfectly complimented the beauty of the retreat’s devotional atmosphere, and the tall and majestic mountains silently inspired all to reach the heights of devotion.

The retreat started on early Friday evening with a meet and greet. Devotees munched on samosas and had a hot drink while greeting one another and making new friends. Didi Ji started satsang soon afterwards and finished the day with satsang and a nourishing dinner.

The following day started at 6:30 am with prayers, bhajans and keertans. After feeding the spirit, it was time to nourish the body. This was followed by a hike along Bow River that flows adjacent to the resort. After a refreshing walk, Shri Maharaj Ji’s divine words refreshed the mind. Satsang continued till lunch time, after which Didi Ji took devotees to Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, Canada’s oldest national park. Everyone enjoyed the outing and especially the time with Didi Ji as she shared stories of Shri Maharaj Ji. Satsang continued till night time, during which devotees listened to inspiring words of Didi Ji, sang melodious love songs to Radha-Krishna and played a very interesting game of Antakshari.

The retreat concluded on Sunday afternoon with Guru Paduka Pujan and lunch prasad. Those who were not in a hurry to catch a flight or start on the road trip home, embarked on a trip to Lake Louise. Some devotees took the opportunity to take a mini vacation and stayed on in the area to explore Rocky Mountains for a few more days. All in all, everyone who attended the retreat felt spiritually, mentally and physically refreshed. Plans were already being made to invite more friends and bringing more family members next year.
